Refund Policy

In force from October 14, 2026

Once a ReceiptOCR plan has been paid for, that payment stays with us. Section 2 names the only three cases in which we send money back, and each one has to be confirmed by our logs.

1. How plans are billed

Plans are subscriptions, charged per month or per year. Each period gives your account a page allowance for reading receipts and invoices into spreadsheet rows and exports, together with the features shown on the pricing page. The entire allowance is open from the first day, and the price is the same whether you process ten pages or the full quota.

Before paying you can run an extraction on one of your own receipts and look at the resulting columns. Buying a plan is a request for the service to begin straight away, and you agree that any statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right that might otherwise exist ends at that point.

2. Exceptions

A duplicate charge. A billing fault on our side took payment twice for one period.

Fraud on your card. A charge for ReceiptOCR was made with your card without your consent, it is reported to us no more than 14 days afterwards, and both the account history and the payment trail support it. The logs decide, not the report by itself, and we may ask for the reference of the fraud claim you opened with your bank.

A full outage. ReceiptOCR could not be used at all for an unbroken stretch because of a fault we confirm on our side, you raised it with us while it lasted, and we did not get it working again. A slow queue, a single document that failed, or an issue with your own device, browser or connection does not meet this test.

Approved refunds are paid only to the card that was charged, are capped at the amount for the period concerned, and close our liability for that charge. One refund never leads to another.

3. Not refundable

  • Tax season is over, a bookkeeping client moved elsewhere, or the tool is simply no longer needed.
  • Pages you did not use. Leftover allowance is neither refunded nor paid out.
  • A total, date or vendor name read differently from the paper copy. Results from photos and scans depend on image quality, and every row can be edited before export.
  • Files that were blurry, cut off, handwritten, locked with a password, corrupted or in an unsupported format.
  • A renewal collected after one or more failed attempts, since that period had already begun.
  • Thinking the plan was a single payment, although pricing, checkout, the receipt email and your account each describe automatic renewal.
  • Missing the renewal date, or cancelling right after it.
  • An integration or export format that you expected but the pricing page does not mention.
  • Picking the wrong plan, billing term or page allowance.
  • Activity by a colleague or any other person who had your login details.
  • Days left in a period after cancellation. You keep access until the period closes, with no partial credit.

4. Ending a subscription and renewals

Cancellation is in account settings and does not require an email to us. It switches off every later renewal at once, while your allowance and exports stay available to the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling is not a request for a refund.

Each new period begins on the renewal date shown in your account and is owed from that date. When a card is declined, our payment operator tries the same invoice again over the following days, and those attempts are not extra charges. Cancelling during the retries only prevents future renewals. The period already running stays payable and is not refunded, even when the payment lands a few days late.

5. Requesting a refund

Write to [email protected], using the login email of your ReceiptOCR account, no later than two weeks (14 days) after the charge. Tell us when it was taken, how much it was, and under which section 2 exception you are asking. Messages sent after that window, or from an address not tied to an account, are not reviewed. Requests are taken in order of arrival, and a refusal is not revisited.

Raising a dispute with your bank before writing to us breaches our Terms of Service, and the account is then closed permanently.

6. Logs we rely on

Signing up means you agree to our Terms of Service, which incorporate this policy and our Privacy Policy. The checkout lists plan, amount, billing term and automatic renewal before you pay, and the receipt email confirms them.

For every subscription we store when it was bought, which plan and amount were on screen, your agreement to the terms, the emails we sent, and the account history: sign-ins, receipts uploaded, pages read and exports downloaded, each logged with its technical metadata. The payment operator separately records each charge with the country that issued the card, the origin of the payment and the outcome of 3D Secure verification. We assess refund requests and disputes against these logs and share them with the card issuer when a chargeback is opened.

7. Purchases before this policy

Plans paid for before October 14, 2026 keep the refund terms that were in place on the purchase date.
