Tabscanner Pricing: Tabscanner API Plans and Cost Per Receipt Scan

One Tabscanner credit is one receipt scan. Per Credit is $24 a month for 300 scans plus $0.08 each after that, and Business is $360 for 6,000 plus $0.06 each. Upload a receipt below to test our extraction on your own document.

Honest about where Tabscanner is cheaper

Why the Tabscanner Price Depends on Your Monthly Volume

Tabscanner is a developer API, not a bookkeeping app, and its rate card is short. The catch is that the two self serve plans are priced for very different volumes, so the plan that looks cheap at 300 receipts becomes the expensive one past about 4,500.

Overage Is Where the Money Goes

Per Credit includes only 300 scans for $24. Every scan past that costs $0.08, so at 2,500 receipts a month the bill is $200, not $24. Most apps that outgrow a prototype land in overage within weeks.

The Business Plan Starts at $360

Business lowers the per scan rate to $0.06 but asks $360 a month for the first 6,000 credits. Below about 4,500 receipts a month you pay for credits you do not use, so switching early costs more.

Directories Show Custom Quote

Review directories such as Capterra list Starter, Per Credit and Enterprise as custom quote, with only the $360 Business figure shown. The vendor pricing page does publish the Per Credit rate, which is the number most small teams need.

Human Review Is a Separate Line

Tabscanner advertises up to 99.99 percent accuracy with humans back in the loop. That sits with its Pro Service at $500 a month, which adds a data team and custom training on up to 10 receipt formats a month. It is not in the per scan price.

Enterprise Pricing Is Not Published

Tabscanner describes Enterprise as sub-1-cent scans at scale with guaranteed response times, uptime and a custom SLA. There is no public number, so budgeting above Business means a sales call.

An API Still Needs Code Around It

The price covers extraction. Your team still builds the upload flow, the review screen for low confidence fields and the export into QuickBooks or a spreadsheet. For a finance team without developers, that build is the larger cost.

Tabscanner Plans and What Each One Includes

Four plans are listed on the Tabscanner pricing page, in US dollars, with one credit equal to one receipt scan.

Starter: 200 Credits a Month

A testing tier with 200 scans a month and dashboard access, no credit card required. Tabscanner positions it for app and software development, so treat it as a sandbox for your integration rather than a production plan.

Per Credit: $24 for 300 Scans

$24 a month includes 300 monthly credits, then $0.08 for each extra scan. This is the plan for a small app or an internal tool processing a few hundred receipts a month.

Business: $360 for 6,000 Scans

$360 a month includes 6,000 monthly credits, then $0.06 for each extra scan. It becomes cheaper than Per Credit at about 4,500 receipts a month.

Enterprise: Quoted

Unlimited scans at a quoted rate Tabscanner describes as sub-1-cent at scale, with guaranteed response times, uptime and a custom SLA.

Pro Service: $500 a Month

An add on with a dedicated data team tuning the model to your receipts and custom training on up to 10 receipt formats every month. This is where the human in the loop accuracy claim lives.

Speed and Coverage

Tabscanner states sub-second processing with 90 percent of receipts under 2 seconds, line item extraction, and regional settings for more than 30 countries including the US. SDK examples cover .NET, Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, Node.js and Go.

How to Work Out Your Tabscanner Cost in Four Steps

The right plan is decided by one number, receipts per month, plus whether you need a human review layer.

1

Count Receipts, Not Uploads

One credit is one receipt scan. If your users photograph the same receipt twice, or you rescan after a failed read, each attempt uses a credit. Take your expected receipts a month and add a margin for retries.

Tip: Log retries during your Starter testing month. That ratio is the most common reason real bills beat the estimate.

2

Pick the Plan by Break Even

Per Credit costs $24 plus $0.08 a scan above 300. Business costs $360 plus $0.06 a scan above 6,000. The two meet at about 4,500 receipts a month. Below that stay on Per Credit, above it move to Business.

3

Decide Whether You Need Human Review

If a wrong total costs you a chargeback or a failed audit, price the $500 Pro Service in. If a person on your side already reviews each receipt, the base API is the fair comparison.

4

Price the Work Around the API

If nobody on your team writes code, compare against a finished tool that exports Excel, CSV or QuickBooks files directly. The per page price of a finished tool includes the upload screen, the review step and the export.

Plan prices come from the Tabscanner pricing page. The monthly totals and per receipt figures are our arithmetic from those published numbers, shown so you can check them.

App Developers

You are adding receipt scanning to an expense, loyalty or rewards app. Tabscanner is built for you, and Per Credit is the honest starting point up to a few thousand scans.

Platforms at Volume

Past 6,000 receipts a month, Business overage at $0.06 adds up fast. Compare it with a flat page allowance before you sign an Enterprise quote.

Bookkeepers and Finance Teams

You need receipts in a spreadsheet or QuickBooks, not JSON. A finished tool with export is cheaper than building on any API.

Accuracy Critical Workflows

Audit, reimbursement or tax work where a misread total matters. Price human review or build a review step before comparing sticker rates.

Tabscanner plans and prices

This is the Tabscanner rate card as shown on its pricing page. One credit equals one receipt scan, and the overage rate applies to every scan beyond the included credits.

Tabscanner cost at real monthly volumes

The included credits matter less than the overage rate once an app is live. Here is what each self serve plan costs at common volumes, calculated from the published rates.

Receipts a monthPer Credit totalBusiness totalCheaper planCost per receipt on the cheaper plan
300$24$360Per Credit$0.080
1,000$80$360Per Credit$0.080

10,000$800$600Business$0.060
35,000$2,800$2,100Business$0.060

Per Credit total is $24 plus $0.08 for every scan above 300. Business total is $360 plus $0.06 for every scan above 6,000. Neither figure includes the $500 Pro Service.

Tabscanner against ReceiptOCR, by volume

We sell the same job two ways: a web app that exports Excel, CSV and QuickBooks files on every plan, and an API on the Pro plan. Our plans are priced by pages processed each month, and a one page receipt uses one page. Starter is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for 2,500 pages on the faster model or 500 on the higher accuracy model. Plus is $149 a month, or $74 billed yearly, for 10,000 pages. Pro, which includes API access, starts at $499 a month, or $249 billed yearly, for 35,000 pages.

Receipts a monthTabscanner, cheaper self serve planReceiptOCR web app with exportReceiptOCR API, Pro monthlyReceiptOCR API, Pro yearly
300$24$49, or $24 yearly$499$249
2,500$200$49, or $24 yearly$499$249
6,000$360$149, or $74 yearly$499$249
10,000$600$149, or $74 yearly$499$249
35,000$2,100Pro tier$499$249

Read the table honestly. For a developer who needs an API and scans fewer than about 3,100 receipts a month, Tabscanner Per Credit is cheaper than our Pro plan even on yearly billing, and against our monthly Pro price Tabscanner stays cheaper up to about 8,300 receipts. Tabscanner also has a longer track record as a pure receipt API, a permanent testing tier and a human review option we do not sell. Where we win is volume and finished output: at 35,000 receipts a month the gap is $2,100 against $499, and a bookkeeper who only needs a spreadsheet pays $49 for 2,500 receipts in our web app instead of $200 for API calls that still need code around them.

If your receipts are headed for a ledger rather than an app, skip the API entirely. Our bulk receipt scanner turns a folder of receipts into one spreadsheet, the receipt OCR API page documents the endpoints for developers, and the wider market of document APIs is priced side by side on our OCR API pricing comparison. Teams also weighing the other receipt APIs can read the Veryfi alternative and Taggun alternative pages.

Tabscanner Pricing: Frequently Asked Questions

Tabscanner costs $24 a month on the Per Credit plan, which includes 300 receipt scans and charges $0.08 for each extra scan. The Business plan is $360 a month for 6,000 scans with $0.06 per extra scan. Enterprise is quoted, and a Pro Service add on with custom training is $500 a month.

Tabscanner has a Starter tier with 200 credits a month and no credit card required, aimed at developers testing an integration. Production volumes move to Per Credit at $24 a month or Business at $360 a month, so the free tier is a sandbox rather than a working plan for a live app.

One Tabscanner credit equals one receipt scan. Credits are included monthly with each plan, and scans beyond the included amount are billed at the overage rate: $0.08 on Per Credit and $0.06 on Business. Retries and duplicate uploads each use a credit.

The Tabscanner API costs $0.08 per receipt on Per Credit and $0.06 per receipt on Business once you use the included credits. Enterprise is quoted at what Tabscanner calls sub-1-cent at scale. At 10,000 receipts a month the cheaper self serve option is Business at $600, or $0.06 per receipt.

Switch at about 4,500 receipts a month. At that volume Per Credit costs $24 plus 4,200 extra scans at $0.08, which is $360, the same as the Business plan. Above 4,500 Business is cheaper; below it you pay for unused Business credits.

Yes. Tabscanner lists merchant name, date, line items, tax, payment method and totals among the fields it returns. For receipts that feed inventory or job costing, line items are the reason to use an API instead of the header only receipt capture built into most accounting apps.

Yes, through its Pro Service at $500 a month, which adds a dedicated data team tuning the model to your receipts and custom training on up to 10 receipt formats a month. Tabscanner ties its up to 99.99 percent accuracy claim to bringing humans back in the loop.

Yes. Tabscanner is API only, so spreadsheet or QuickBooks output needs code. ReceiptOCR exports Excel, CSV and QuickBooks files from a web app on every plan, starting at $49 a month or $24 billed yearly for 2,500 pages, and offers an API on the Pro plan.

It depends on volume and on whether you need an API. For API use under about 3,100 receipts a month Tabscanner is cheaper than our Pro plan. At 35,000 receipts a month Tabscanner Business costs $2,100 against $499 for ReceiptOCR Pro. For spreadsheet output without code, our $49 Starter covers 2,500 receipts.
