WellyBox is built around one clever idea: connect your inbox and let it find every receipt that ever landed there. The plan prices are easy to read. What changes the real cost is how the document caps, the billing period and the email lookback window move together between tiers.
The $19 Basic plan is listed as available on annual billing only, so the true entry commitment is $228 up front. There is no month to month version of Basic. The cheapest plan you can pay for one month at a time is Business at $59.
Basic includes 50 documents per month, counting both receipts collected from email and receipts scanned with your phone. A small business with a few subscriptions, a fuel card and regular supplier invoices can pass 50 in a normal month, and every document past the cap forces a plan change.
Paid yearly, Business lists unlimited users, email accounts, WhatsApp scanners and documents. Paid monthly, the same plan is capped at 10 users, 10 email accounts and 500 documents a month. The name is the same. The limits are not.
WellyBox can search your inbox for older receipts, and how far back it goes is a plan feature: 12 months on Basic, 24 months on monthly Business and 48 months on yearly Business. If you are catching up on several years of bookkeeping, the lookback window decides the plan.
Several review directories still quote WellyBox at $5.99 and $15.99 per user per month. The current WellyBox pricing page prices by account, not by user, at $19, $49 and $99 a month on yearly billing. Budget from the vendor page, not a directory listing.
Mobile capture in WellyBox runs through a WhatsApp chatbot, with 2 connected WhatsApp accounts on Basic. That works well for a single receipt on the go. It is a slower route when you already have a folder of scanned PDFs or photos to process in one batch.

WellyBox connects to Gmail or Outlook and pulls receipts and invoices out of your email automatically. If most of your receipts arrive as email, that collection step is the real thing you are paying for, and it is genuinely good at it.
The WellyBox help center lists QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks among the accounting platforms you can connect to sync receipts. Accounting software integration appears on the Basic plan, so it is not gated behind an upgrade.
WellyBox advertises a 7-day free trial with no credit card needed to start it. Its own FAQ says a card is required once you choose a plan after the trial. There is no permanent free tier listed on the pricing page.
The plan you need is decided by three numbers: documents per month, how far back your email receipts go, and whether you will pay yearly.
Pull three months of card and bank activity and count every transaction that should have a receipt or invoice behind it, including subscriptions and email invoices. If the monthly figure is over 50, Basic is out regardless of how few people use the account.
Tip: WellyBox counts documents collected from email and documents scanned by phone against the same monthly cap.
If you only need receipts from this year, the 12 month lookback on Basic is enough. Catching up on two or three tax years needs Business, and only yearly Business reaches 48 months.
Yearly Business at $49 a month is $588 a year with no document cap. Monthly Business at $59 is $708 a year if you keep it twelve months, capped at 500 documents a month. If you are sure you will stay, yearly is both cheaper and less restricted.
If your receipts are already scanned or saved as PDFs, the inbox search is not doing work for you. Price that workload per page instead: a batch extraction plan charges for pages processed and exports Excel, CSV or a QuickBooks file directly.

If the receipts are already sitting in a folder, you need batch extraction to a spreadsheet more than inbox discovery, and per page pricing usually wins.

Enterprise is listed as everything in Business plus the clients dashboard, so we have carried the Business limits into its row. Monthly Enterprise at $124 is $1,488 over twelve months, which is $300 more than paying yearly.
The yearly discount is not only a price cut. On Business and Enterprise it also lifts every usage limit, which makes monthly billing the more restricted plan and not only the more expensive one.
