SparkReceipt Pro costs $6.90 a month or $69 a year for 50 documents a month, and Elite costs $12.90 a month or $129 a year with no monthly document cap under fair use. Each extra user is $1 a month and your accountant joins free. Upload a receipt below to see every field and line item extracted, priced by the page instead of by the plan.

SparkReceipt is one of the cheapest receipt apps sold in the US, and for one owner with a phone full of receipts that is most of the story. The real bill depends on four things the headline price does not show: how many documents you scan, whether you need line items, how many bank statements you feed it, and how many people log in.
Pro includes 50 documents a month for the whole account, shared by every user, and bank statements count toward the 50. Each document past that costs 10 credits, so a busy month on Pro is billed partly in credits.
Line item extraction on every receipt is listed under Elite, not Pro. If you need quantity, unit price and description per line for job costing or inventory, the real entry price is $129 a year, not $69.
Bank statement extraction costs 1 credit per transaction. Pro includes 100 credits per user per month and Elite 200, and SparkReceipt estimates 1,000 credits cover about 30 typical monthly statements on Elite.
Elite lists unlimited documents subject to fair use. The pricing page does not publish the threshold, so a bookkeeper planning thousands of documents a month should ask before relying on it.
SparkReceipt replaced its summer annual plan with three bundled users on September 24, 2026. Directory listings and review sites still quote older tiers, so check any figure you read elsewhere against the dates below.
SparkReceipt is an ongoing capture app for a small business: inbox scanning, bank feeds, mileage and expense reports. Turning a stack of client files into one spreadsheet with a column per field is a different job.
Two published plans in US dollars, plus an optional paid setup. Prices exclude sales tax, and both plans start with a 7 day free trial.
$6.90 month to month or $69 a year, which works out to $5.75 a month. 50 documents a month, one connected email inbox, one live bank feed, AI scanning and categorization, bank statement extraction and matching, mileage and expense reports, and QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zapier and Make connections.
$12.90 month to month or $129 a year, $10.75 a month. Unlimited documents under fair use, line items on every receipt, several inboxes and bank feeds, AI Fields, plain English filing rules, a Schedule C export and export templates for Sage 50, Wave, DATEV and Sage 200.
Each plan includes one user. Every extra user is $1 a month, or $12 a year on annual billing, the same on Pro and Elite, with no minimum. An accountant joins free with read access and never takes a paid seat.
Extra credits sell in packs: 1,000 for $12, 3,000 for $32.40, 5,000 for $51, 10,000 for $96 and 20,000 for $168. Bought credits never expire and are used only after the monthly allowance runs out.
A one time $400 setup session with the co-founder, sold only with annual Elite, so the first year costs $529 and later years $129. This option has no free trial.
From May to September 2026 the website sold annual plans only. The September change brought monthly billing back on both plans, so you can test past the 7 day trial without paying a year up front.
Four numbers decide the bill: documents a month, whether you need line items, how many bank transactions you import, and how many people need a login.
Count receipts, supplier invoices and bank statements together, because all three count toward the Pro limit. Under 50 a month fits Pro. Well above 50, Elite is usually cheaper than paying credits on Pro.
Tip: Receipts forwarded from your inbox count as documents too.
If merchant, date, category and total are enough, Pro covers it. If you need each line of an itemized receipt, budget for Elite from the start.
Count the transactions on the statements you plan to import. At 1 credit each, a statement with 120 lines uses 120 credits, more than the 100 a Pro user gets each month.
Add $1 a month or $12 a year for every user past the first. Your outside accountant is free, so only count owners, partners and staff who scan.
Plan prices, user fees and credit packs come from the SparkReceipt US pricing page and its September 2026 pricing announcement. The cost per receipt and crossover figures are our own arithmetic from those numbers, shown in full so you can check them.
Pro at $69 a year is hard to beat if one person scans a few dozen receipts a month and only needs totals and categories.
Elite at $129 a year adds line items and removes the monthly cap. It stays cheap as the team grows because users cost $12 a year each.
A year of a client shoebox, supplier invoices with several pages, or files from many clients turned into one sheet is an extraction job, priced better by pages than by an app subscription.
Multi page invoices, duplicate checks and QuickBooks import files point to a per page extraction tool rather than a receipt app.
This is the SparkReceipt rate card for subscriptions bought on its US website, in US dollars, effective September 24, 2026. Annual prices are one payment for the year, shown with the monthly equivalent.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Documents | Credits per user | Line items | Extra user |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $6.90 per month | $69 a year ($5.75 per month) | 50 a month, shared by the account | 100 a month | No | $1 a month or $12 a year |
| Elite | $12.90 per month | $129 a year ($10.75 per month) | Unlimited under fair use | 200 a month | Yes, every receipt | $1 a month or $12 a year |
| Founder led setup | Not offered | $400 once plus Elite, $529 the first year | As Elite | As Elite | Yes | $12 a year |
Paid month to month for a full year, Pro comes to $82.80 and Elite to $154.80, so annual billing saves $13.80 and $25.80. Both plans have a 7 day free trial, and the founder setup option has none.
These totals are published by SparkReceipt on its pricing page. Your accountant joins free on top of these numbers. On Pro, the whole team still shares 50 documents a month.
| Users | Pro, annual | Elite, annual | Pro, monthly | Elite, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $69 a year | $129 a year | $6.90 | $12.90 |
| 2 | $81 a year | $141 a year | $7.90 | $13.90 |
| 3 | $93 a year | $153 a year | $8.90 | $14.90 |
| 5 | $117 a year | $177 a year | $10.90 | $16.90 |
| 10 | $177 a year | $237 a year | $15.90 | $21.90 |
Seat cost is not where SparkReceipt gets expensive. Ten users on Elite cost $237 a year, less than four Expensify Collect members at $5 a month each. The numbers that move the bill are documents past 50 on Pro and transactions on imported bank statements.
Credits pay for three things: bank statement transactions at 1 credit each, past emails imported from your inbox at 0.3 credit each after the first 10,000 free, and documents over the Pro limit at 10 credits each. Monthly credits reset on the 1st and do not carry over. Bought packs never expire.
| Pack | Price | Per credit | One extra Pro document (10 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 credits | $12.00 | $0.0120 | $0.120 |
| 3,000 credits | $32.40 | $0.0108 | $0.108 |
| 5,000 credits | $51.00 | $0.0102 | $0.102 |
| 10,000 credits | $96.00 | $0.0096 | $0.096 |
| 20,000 credits | $168.00 | $0.0084 | $0.084 |
Our arithmetic: Elite costs $6 a month more than Pro on monthly billing, which buys 500 credits, or 50 extra documents, at the 1,000 pack price. A single Pro user also gets 100 monthly credits, worth 10 documents. So if credits are not going to bank statements, Pro stays cheaper than Elite up to about 110 documents a month. Above that, or as soon as you need line items, Elite is the better buy.
Divide the monthly price by the documents you actually process. This is our arithmetic from the published figures, not a SparkReceipt number, and it assumes one user with no bank statements.
| Plan | Monthly price | At 50 receipts | At 200 receipts | At 1,000 receipts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SparkReceipt Pro, annual | $5.75 | $0.115 | About $0.11 with credits | About $0.12 with credits |
| SparkReceipt Elite, annual | $10.75 | $0.215 | $0.054 | $0.011, subject to fair use |
| SparkReceipt Elite, monthly | $12.90 | $0.258 | $0.065 | $0.013, subject to fair use |
| ReceiptOCR Starter, annual | $24 | $0.48 | $0.12 | $0.024 |
| ReceiptOCR Starter, monthly | $49 | $0.98 | $0.245 | $0.049 |
For one owner capturing receipts as they happen, SparkReceipt is cheaper than we are at every volume in this table. We are saying so plainly because it is true. Our Starter plan covers 2,500 pages a month on the faster model or 500 on the higher accuracy model, and it earns its price on what comes out of each page and how many files you can push through at once, not on the receipt count.
Buyers often weigh SparkReceipt against Expensify. They are priced on different axes. Expensify Collect is $5 per active member per month, so five people cost $25 a month. SparkReceipt Elite for five users is $177 a year, about $14.75 a month. Expensify earns its higher price with approvals, reimbursement and corporate card features, which SparkReceipt does not try to match. The full Expensify breakdown, including how it bills for active members, is on our Expensify pricing page.
These tools overlap on one step. SparkReceipt is a receipt and bookkeeping capture app for a small business. We are an extraction tool that turns receipts and invoices you already have into structured data.

If you run one small business and want receipts captured from your phone and inbox all year, SparkReceipt at $69 to $129 a year is the sensible buy and we would not talk you out of it. If you are a bookkeeper or a finance team with a backlog of receipts and supplier invoices to turn into rows you can sort, reconcile and import, that is the job our bulk receipt scanner does in one pass, and the receipt to Excel converter lands every field and line item in its own column. For vendor bills, duplicate invoice detection flags repeats before they are paid.
If you are pricing more than one receipt app, the same breakdown exists for Foreceipt pricing and WellyBox pricing, and the Smart Receipts pricing guide covers the other low cost phone app. Bookkeepers on QuickBooks can see SparkReceipt priced next to Hubdoc, Dext, AutoEntry and Expensify in our roundup of the best receipt scanner for QuickBooks.
SparkReceipt Pro costs $6.90 a month or $69 a year, and Elite costs $12.90 a month or $129 a year, on the US website since September 24, 2026. Each plan includes one user, extra users are $1 a month or $12 a year, and both plans start with a 7 day free trial.
On annual billing, a team of 5 pays $117 a year on Pro or $177 a year on Elite, which is the plan price plus four extra users at $12 each. On monthly billing it is $10.90 or $16.90 a month. Your accountant joins free on top, and on Pro the team shares 50 documents a month.
Pro covers 50 documents a month with one email inbox and one bank feed. Elite removes the monthly document cap under fair use and adds line items on every receipt, several inboxes and bank feeds, AI Fields, plain English filing rules, a Schedule C export and export templates for Sage 50, Wave, DATEV and Sage 200.
SparkReceipt offers a 7 day free trial on both Pro and Elite rather than a permanent free plan. Some directory sites still list an older free tier with a small monthly document allowance, but the current US pricing page shows only the two paid plans and the paid setup option.
Elite lists unlimited documents, subject to fair use, and the pricing page does not publish the fair use threshold. Pro is limited to 50 documents a month for the whole account, and each document past that costs 10 credits. Bank statement transactions always use credits on both plans.
Credit packs on the website cost $12 for 1,000, $32.40 for 3,000, $51 for 5,000, $96 for 10,000 and $168 for 20,000. Bought credits never expire and are used after the monthly allowance of 100 credits per user on Pro or 200 on Elite runs out.
Yes. Both plans list QuickBooks Online and Xero connections, plus Zapier, Make, Pabbly, webhooks and an API. Elite adds export templates for Sage 50, Wave, DATEV and Sage 200. QuickBooks Desktop is not listed on the pricing page.
For one owner or a small team that wants receipts captured from a phone and inbox all year, yes, it is among the cheapest paid options and users cost only $1 a month. It is less suited to clearing a large backlog or turning multi page supplier invoices into structured rows for import.
Bookkeepers who extract receipts and supplier invoices in bulk for clients usually need per field and per line output more than an inbox app. ReceiptOCR Starter is $49 a month, or $24 on annual billing, for 2,500 pages with line items, custom templates and Excel, CSV or QuickBooks export on every plan.
